Jamaica is known for its sandy beaches and beautiful resorts. It’s also famous for its well-prepared Jamaican dishes. So when I got to Jamaica one of my goals was try to eat at a variety of places and take a tour of country side. Raymore was recommended by our hotel concierge as a reliable tour guide and private driver. He went above and beyond what I wanted to do and see. He picked us up at 10am and the first place he took us to was Copper Pot, where they prepared goat soup for us to try. It was really good.
Since I wanted to get out of the resort and go into the mountains, he drove us from Montego Bay to the south and then back up north to Negril with bunch of stops along the way at beaches, shops, Rick’s cafe and different food spots. One of my favorites was trying out Jamaican ackee and fresh coconut at the Cool Jellyman stand. I’ve never had ackee so it was really fun to try it out.
You know Jamaicans love their patty so we stopped at Juici Patty with Raymore. They offer beef, cheese chicken and shrimp patty and I tried all of them. I had six of them because it was the best patties I ever had. If you want to have a great experience and some superb memories then contact Raymore. Without Raymore we may have never experienced the true Jamaica. Thanks again Raymore my friend!
You can reach him at (876) 866-9965.

Sampling Along the Jerk Trail, Jamaica
Jerk Meat is probably one of the best-known Jamaica cuisine. That’s why the Jamaica Jerk Trail is a must try culinary adventure. This delicious food is marinated for hours in peppers, scallion, thyme and cooked slowly on top of the wood. This allows the natural juice infused with the wood flavor creating this authentic Jamaican cuisine. So we had to try it when we were on our way to Negril. When we stopped by Border jerk the smell of the smoked chicken made us even more hungry. This is the first time we ever had jerk chicken and we both fell in love with the distinct flavors. So next time you visit Jamaica be sure to check out the stops below. We guarantee you won’t regret it.

Part 2: Fabulous Food and Cocktails – Secrets Resort in Jamaica
We had so much food at Secrets Wild Orchid. Since it’s all-inclusive, we were basically eating non-stop and drinking every day. The breakfast buffet offered so much variation, there was always something we enjoyed. Dinner was pretty decent. Some were outstanding especially the Jamaican food. The Preferred Club Lounge always has good snack choices and yummy desserts all day long. I love their finger sandwiches, chicken and wide selection of cakes.
There are five restaurants for dinner which are Jamaican, Italian, Mexican, French and Japanese. My least favorite is probably the Portofino Italian restaurant – that’s because I have been to Rome, Florence and Tuscany. I had so much Italian food in Italy so I am just comparing the food in Jamaica to what I had in Italy. Overall it’s still a good dinner.
Room service was excellent. We had our breakfast delivered to our room and the breakfast at our ocean-facing balcony was a unforgettable experience. Overall it was a great experience and I can’t wait to go back and have those delicious snacks at the PC lounge.

Part 1: Discover A New Paradise – Secrets Resort at Jamaica
Oh Jamaica, Ya mon. What a beautiful Island. Allen and I have been looking forward to this tropical island for months. We were super excited when we landed in Montego Bay, or “Mo Bay” as some may call it. We left customs and went to the shuttle bus that we booked in advance.
We arrived at Secrets Wild Orchid very shortly. It’s an adult only all-inclusive resort. We came with very high expectations based on their site and they exceeded our expectations. Upon arrival we were warmly greeted with bubbly champagne and fresh towels at the Preferred Club Desk. After we check in we were escorted to our rooms and boy oh boy, the room is magnificent with a breathtaking ocean front view. We just couldn’t wait to watch the sunset from our balcony.
The resort is so beautiful and very well kept. I have been to Puerto Rico and Puna Cana in the past, but the beach at Secrets is the most beautiful I’ve seen. I’m not a swimmer nor can I float, so I never set myself into the ocean. However, the water is so clear there that I didn’t mind going inside. So if you like snorkeling this is the perfect beach. With that being said, there are also plenty of chairs and hotel staff by the beach for us to relax and enjoy this island paradise.
The food and drinks were absolutely amazing at the restaurant and the bar. More reviews of the food will be on my next post. In summary, we had real relaxation, beautiful sunsets and an amazing beach. What more can we ask for from this beautiful resort?
